Russia's Rosneft says has no contacts with Hunter Biden
MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft has denied media reports about contacts with Hunter Biden, son of U.S. president-elect Joe Biden, according to a statement released on Monday.
In November, FoxNews reported that Rosneft was involved in consultations between Hunter Biden and his Chinese partners on acquisition of a stake in Rosneft.
"These statements are absolutely untrue. In fact, Rosneft has never been in contact with Hunter Biden,” Rosneft said.
“Nevertheless, these rumors are discussed at the highest level, presumably, to create negative hype around the company and harm its reputation."
The company accused the leading foreign media of waging an information war against it to provoke new sanctions.
Rosneft also said that business daily newspapers Kommersant and RBC published statements attempting to discredit project Vostok Oil of Rosneft.
"The company reserves the right to use any legal methods, including going to court to protect business reputation," the company said.
